Family MVP

The Family MVP Incentive Program is a pilot initiative designed to celebrate and reward family engagement in public education. Families can earn opportunities to win valuable prizes by participating in school events, supporting student attendance, and reinforcing a positive school culture. This program is a partnership between LPSS and Love Our Schools.

Eligibility
Participation is open to families with students currently enrolled at Lafayette Elementary School, Paul Breaux Middle School, or Northside High School for the 2025–2026 academic year. Family members include Parents/Step-Parents, Guardians, Grandparents, Aunts and Uncles, who are over the age of 18. School staff and contractors are not eligible to win.

How to Participate
Families enter the program by attending school-sponsored events and engaging in designated activities. Each school uses a sign-in process to record attendance. This participation data is linked to the student’s ID number (SID) and submitted into the Family MVP Tracking System. All data remains securely within each school site and is protected by PII laws consistent with how all student data is protected at LPSS. This data is not shared with outside entities, including Love Our Schools, without guardian permission.

Program Dates
Start Date: August 1, 2025
End Date: May 8, 2026

Quarterly Prizes
Each nine-week period, eligible families from across all three schools will be entered into a prize drawing. To qualify for entry in a given quarter, the student must meet the following criteria during that nine-week period:

• No unexcused absences

• No tardies

• No early checkouts

• No major behavior referrals

Quarterly prizes will be awarded from one general prize pool. Each quarter, one family from the overall pool of qualifying entries will be selected to receive a prize. The four quarterly prizes are as follows:

• Quarter 1: $250 gift card to Surge Entertainment

• Quarter 2: $250 gift card to Dave and Buster’s

• Quarter 3: $250 gift card to The Grand Movie Theatre

• Quarter 4: Four annual passes to Zoosiana

Quarterly winners are selected at random by the Parent Family Engagement Office at Lafayette Parish School System. Prize notifications will be delivered by school leadership. Love Our Schools will present the prize at a designated time coordinated with each school.

Grand Prize
At the conclusion of the program, one family from the full pool of Family MVP participants will be randomly selected to receive the grand prize. The grand prize is a two-night family trip for up to six people to New Orleans, Louisiana. This package includes:

• Hotel accommodations

• Fuel reimbursement

• Meals

• Admission to the Audubon Zoo, Audubon Aquarium, and Audubon Insectarium

The grand prize winner will be selected by the LPSS Parent Family Engagement Office, sealed in an envelope, and announced live at the Family MVP Banquet. All families who achieve MVP status remain eligible for the grand prize regardless of whether they won a quarterly prize.

Family of the Year
Each participating school may name one Family of the Year from its MVP roster. This designation is an honorary recognition determined by the school leadership team. No additional prizes or prize eligibility are associated with this title.

Multiple Wins
Families are eligible to win more than once. A family that wins a quarterly prize remains eligible for future quarterly prizes and for the grand prize.

Disqualification
A family may be disqualified from eligibility or have a prize revoked under any of the following conditions:

• Falsification of participation records or event sign-ins

• Receipt of more than two major behavior referrals for the student during the school year

• Failure to claim a prize within sixty calendar days of notification

Notification and Prize Delivery
Quarterly prize winners will be notified directly by school leadership. Love Our Schools will coordinate and deliver the prizes at a designated time. The grand prize will be revealed at the Family MVP Banquet on or after May 8, 2026. All prizes must be claimed within sixty days of notification.

General Conditions
No purchase is necessary to participate. Participation in the program constitutes agreement to these rules. Love Our Schools reserves the right to amend, suspend, or terminate the program rules at any time for any reason it deems necessary.
